Our Mission
Our club's mission is to promote accessible STEM education in Central Virginia, provide student-centered learning opportunities in engineering and design, and develop the teamwork, organization, and leadership skills of the next generation. We are centered around the First Tech Challenge (read more about it here: https://www.firstinspires.org/robotics/ftc); however, we also use our platform to promote STEM education at community events, and connect with experts in our fields to learn more about career skills and real-world applications of the robotics that we are so passionate about!
Gage, Evan, Alex, and Ryan run an outreach event booth at ClubFest!
Idrak, Ryan, Marcus, and Joshua are working on the competition robot
Ryan explains our robot design to the youth of today (and our future drivers)
CAD design and learning are a fundamental part of the club! This is a CAD design of CRABbot
Ben works with young STEM enthusiasts to assemble robot kits!
Diana and Alex work on attaching structural supports to the robots undercarriage
We are not only competition robots! Kids at our booth work on maneuvering a Sphero robot through a maze
Darius, Krys, and Connor work on the drawer slide lifting mechanism!
Who could have thought robotics club included graphic design?
Krys spreads some holiday cheer when CADing
Experts from UVA’s Medical Lab demonstrate their state-of-the-art biomedical technology!
Gurmat, Darius, and Evan tighten up a few screws!
The CBIC (Charlottesville Business Innovation Council) tech tour enabled us to work hands-on with medical training devices, like this advanced heartbeat simulator!
Nick and Nora of Cable Management celebrate the successful setup of the competition booth
Darius, Gurmat, and Sam work on testing the robot, with the holidays just around the corner!
UVA Engineering’s Link Lab shows us their NAO robots with machine learning!
It’s been quite a year!
We build tough!
