I am a sophomore at Western Albemarle High School and Center 1, and this is my second year in WAHS Robotics. I was a builder my freshman year, but didn’t get to do much when it came to actually helping. This year I am the Loose Screws’ Lead Cadder. I joined robotics with friends, and I stayed for the new friends, and fun. I figure that participating in this activity will help me out in the future. GO LOOSE SCREWS!
Gray Tracey
I’m a WAHS freshman and this is my first year in robotics. I am mostly working on building right now, but I want to learn how to program as well. I’m so excited for my first season!
Marcus Benoliaro
Howdy! I’m Marcus Benolirao! This is my first year in the robotics club, and I am excited to explore a new interest. Also, this is my first year in high school, for I am in my freshman year. I joined robotics because I’ve always been interested in engineering, and overall just building stuff. Going through the club so far, I’m really enjoying it! Though I don’t have much experience in CADding, coding, or robotics overall, I’m excited to learn, and ready to help when I can.
Ellie Wasson
My name is Ellie, I’m a Junior at Western Albemarle High School and this is my second school year in Robotics. I joined last year at the start of the second semester on a whim and then continued to stick around at the start of this year's competition season. I’m a builder and designer for Loose Screws. This year I primarily worked on the paper airplane launcher, as it seemed doable for someone at my skill level. Western robotics has helped to further my experience with collaborative projects and finding the hidden solutions to challenging problems. In one sentence, what it's taught me is; if it works, it works.
Connor Schulz
Hi there! I am Connor, I am a junior, and this is my second year in robotics. I have a modest history with coding, CADing (through inventor 2018), and building from my last year, although this year I’ve mainly been focusing on designing and building the paper airplane launcher. I am excited to learn more about how to build robots this year!
Sam Loukus
Hello! I am a Freshman at WAHS who got interested in the robotics team from the class that is taught at school. Though I have done mostly building, I have learned teamwork from the older members of the club during my time here.
Hayden Byrd
I am a freshman at Western Albemarle High School and a new recruit for the Loose Screws team. I joined the robotics club to learn new skills and gain valuable STEM experience. I have taken previous classes related to engineering and coding, but I am excited to learn more.
Sam Williams
Hello, I am a Sophomore and this is my second year in Robotics, and my second year on Loose Screws. I am glad to return to the team I was competing on last year! I am mainly a builder and designer, though I do help out on CADing and Coding and wish to expand my experience with coding. This year I hope to improve my teamwork skills, building expertise, and my coding knowledge. My main hope and goal is to have a good experience on my team, and to construct a competitive robot.
